Introducing more flexible ways to pay for boat insurance

We've made some changes to how you can pay for your Mariner boat insurance, and we think you're going to like them. 

We're offering Mariner customers improved payment options* through our premium funding partner, Watermark Premium Funding

Here's what's new:

  • 12 months, not 10
    Spread your premium payments over 12 equal monthly instalments instead of 10. Smaller payments, easier budgeting.
  • Choose how you pay
    Direct debit from your bank account, or pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, or Amex). Transaction fees do apply to credit card payments, but choose the option that works best for you.
  • Payments that match your policy renewal
    Your first monthly payment kicks in on the date your policy starts or renews (adjusted for weekends and public holidays).

Why monthly payments make sense

Let's be honest - boat ownership comes with plenty of expenses. Maintenance, fuel, gear upgrades, that new fishing rod you've had your eye on. Paying your annual insurance premium in one go can put a dent in your cash flow right when you'd rather be spending it on the water.

Monthly payments are provided through Watermark Premium Funding, and help you keep your cash available for the fun stuff (and the essential stuff like fuel and servicing). No upfront payment. Just manageable instalments that keep your budget smooth sailing.

How premium funding works

Watermark pays your full insurance premium upfront, and you repay them over the 12 months of your policy. Administration fees and interest charges apply, but there's no credit check required, and approval is instant.

Your premium funding automatically renews with your policy each year - one less thing to remember. And if you need to cancel? No worries. We stop the cover and the payments. You're not locked in.

Getting started

For existing customers, it’s simple. When your renewal notice arrives, we'll include all the details about premium funding. If you want to switch to monthly payments or update how we take your instalments, you will be able to do so by using the link included in your renewal offer or just send us an email.

For new customers, you’ll be given the option of monthly instalments when you take out your policy.

In both instances, it's quick, hassle-free, and gets you sorted in no time.
